Importing Media Files

The first step is to import all of the media files that you want to convert into CyberLink MediaEspresso. Once in the main window, you can play/view them using the CyberLink MediaEspresso media player.

•	Click on the Import Media button and then select By File to import individual media files, or select By Folder to import all the media in a specific folder.

•	Browse to and select all of the media you want to import and convert, and then click on the Open button.

•	If required, use the following buttons to filter the media in the window:

•	To play/view a media file, double-click on it or right-click on the file and then select Play/View Selected.

•	Use the available playback controls to pause and adjust the volume during video and audio playback, or go to the previous/next selected media file.

•	Click to return to the CyberLink MediaEspresso main window, or press the Esc or Backspace button on your keyboard.

Note: * this feature is not available in some versions of CyberLink MediaEspresso.

The following are some tips to ensure you get the most out of CyberLink MediaEspresso.

•	Click on to view your media in the thumbnail view, or to view them in a detailed list view.

•	When viewing your media in the list view, click the column headings to sort the imported media. Click the column heading to select/deselect all of the imported media.

•	You can import and convert media files of the following formats:

•	Video: 3G2, 3GP, 3GPP, ASF, AVI, DAT, DivX, DV-AVI, DVR-MS, FLV (H.264 AVC), M2T (H.264 AVC, H.265 HEVC), M2TS (H.264 AVC, H.265 HEVC), M4V, MKV (H.264 AVC, H.265 HEVC), MOD, MOV (H.264 AVC), MP4 (H.264 AVC, H.265 HEVC), MPEG, MPG, MTS, Tivo, TS, WMV, WTV.

•	You can convert media files into the following formats:

•	Video: AVI (DivX), M2TS, MPEG-2, MPEG-4 (DivX), MPEG-4 (H.264 AVC), MPEG-4 (H.265 HEVC), WMV.

•	You can add the profiles you use most often to your favorites for quick access on the menu bar. See Adding Profiles to Your Favorites for more information.

•	To ensure your converted videos have the desired TV format (NTSC or PAL), you must set the language used for non-Unicode programs in your operating system's Regional and Language Options to a country that uses the NTSC or PAL format.

•	Use (located in the bottom right corner of the window) to dynamically resize the media thumbnails.

•	Before converting media, select > Settings (or when converting media) to enable hardware acceleration, TrueTheater, set the location of converted files, and more. See MediaEspresso Settings for more information.

Note: * this feature is not available in some versions of CyberLink MediaEspresso.
