Working with Chords
Capo was designed to make it easy to correct or add to its initial chord detection results. If Chord Intelligence comes up short, here's how you can make those quick adjustments.
- Alternate Detections
- When Chord Intelligence is done detecting chords, its results are immediately visible in the list of chords in the Notation Area. However, what you see in the notation area is only part of what Chord Intelligence has calculated. For each of the chords you see, there is a short list of alternate chords that were also likely at that point in the song.
- Choosing Shapes
- There are many ways to play chords on a stringed instrument, and Capo offers an extensive list of shapes (or voicings) to suit your preferences for each chord.
- Adding and Deleting Chords
- Capo may not catch some quick chord changes, or detects too many. Capo allows you to add and delete chord entries to suit the song you're working with.
- Entering Other Chords
- While Chord Intelligence does have a large vocabulary of chords that it can detect automatically, there are many that it cannot recognize on its own. For those chords, we have you covered by offering a quick and easy way to specify even the most complex of chords.
- Making Global Changes
- When modifying a chord or the shape used to play it, you can change all the entries in Capo at once. For instance, if an F major chord detected by Chord Intelligence as an F major 7, you can perform just one correction to change all the F major 7 entries to F major.
- Hiding the Chord Boxes
- If you want to see more of the spectrogram display, or don't need the extra help that Capo's chord boxes can provide, Capo allows you to hide or show the guitar boxes to suit your learning style.
- Recognized Chord Strings
- Capo allows you to enter very complex chords using very simple seach strings. This is a collection of useful information about those strings.
